Sponsor a child for his/her education

The scholarship program at JCS was created to give hope to those less privileged children, through the opportunity of receiving a high quality education in English with a solid Christian foundation thereby forming the future men and woman of our community in Jarabacoa.

Currently, the Love and Hope Scholarship Program has no more than forty students, who have been selected from among many that have applied. Our main goal is to provide every such child that comes to our school with the opportunity to get support and be part of the future and growth of JCS. This can only be possible with the help of people like you, who through the best of efforts, work together with us and provide us with the resources to bring these children in our classrooms.

Requirements for a child to obtain a Scholarship

1. Child must be two to six years old, with the exception of an older child who might be currently enrolled in our school or already have sufficient English knowledge.
2. Low income family
3. Parent must work five volunteer hours per month at JCS
4. Every request will be received by the Scholarship Committee to determine if a child is truly eligible for the scholarship.
5. Parents will sign a Parent-School Contract. The contract will include the rights and responsibilities of the eligible child and his/her parents.

At the beginning of each year, every sponsor will receive a packet with:

-current photo of the child
-financial statement of how your constriction is being used
-letter from the Director/Principal
-school calendar

At the end of each semester, every sponsor will receive:

-a current report card
-a letter or drawing from the child

Financial:

Sponsor will pay for 25%, 50% (partial scholarships) or 75% (full scholarship) of the monthly tuition and inscription fees. The parents will pay for the balance of the fee. If you need a price list, please request it by email. Each age bracket is a different price.

Programa de becas

El program de becas de JCS surge de la necesidad de brindar esperanza a aquellos estudiantes menos privilegiados de poder recibir una educación de calidad en inglés y fomentar una base cristiana, para la formación de los futuros hombres y mujeres de nuestra comunidad.

El programa de becas “Amor y Esperanza” cuenta actualmente con un pequeño número de estudiantes que han sido seleccionados entre tantas personas que han solicitado nuestra ayuda. Nuestro objectivo es poder brindarle la oportunidad a cada padre que llega a nuestras puertas en busca de apoyo y solidaridad; la posibilidad de que sus hijos puedan ser participes de el futuro de nuestro colegio en Jarabacoa. Esta ayuda puede ser posible sólo mediante el deseo y la solidaridad de personas que con la mejor de las intenciones trabajan junto con nosotros y nos proveen de los medios para poder traer estos niños a nuestras aulas.

Requisitos para obtener una beca:

1. El niño debe tener entre dos a seis años máximo, con la excepción de estudiantes que ya tienen dominio del idioma inglés>
2. Bajos recursos económicos
3. Los padres deben comprometerse a cumplir cinco horas mensuales de trabajo voluntario dentro del colegio.
4. Se analizará cada caso por separado para asegurarse que el niño que sea beneficiado por el programa, sea realmente elegible para la beca.
5. Se elaborará un contrato con las clausulas y responsabilidades del padre y niño/a el cual los padres deben firmar con el colegio.

Como patroncinador usted recibirá cada cuatrimestre un paquete que inclurirá:

-foto reciente del niño(a)
-copia de notas
-estado financiero de cómo su dinero ha sido distribuido
-carta del Director(a)
-calendario de eventos
-una carta o dibujo del niño(a)

Financiamiento:

Puede patrocinar a un niño(a) mediante una beca parcial (25% o 50%) o total (75%) del costo. Los padres estan responsable para pagar el otro parte. Si necesita una lista de precios, por favor solicitela por email. Precios varian por grado y edad.
