?¢‚Ǩ?ìThe Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.?Ǭ† He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù?Ǭ† 2 Peter 3:16
?¢‚Ǩ?ìJesus loves the little children; all the children of the world.?Ǭ† Red, brown, yellow, black and white they are precious in His sight.?Ǭ† Jesus loves the little children of the world.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù?Ǭ† These are the words to another one of my favorite children’s songs.?Ǭ† Today, we are celebrating Day of the Races; celebrating our differences; celebrating God’s creation.?Ǭ† He created us each in His own image and He loves each one of us.?Ǭ† He desires that each of us spend eternity in Heaven with Him.?Ǭ† 2 Peter 3:16 tells us that God does not desire anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú that is, to turn away from sin and make Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior.?Ǭ† As we celebrate Day of the Races, I get a little picture of what heaven will be like with all of my brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the world!?Ǭ† Leah Law, Early Childhood Director

JCS SCHOOL NEWS
12 OCTOBER 2007
Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”?Ǭ†?Ǭ†?Ǭ†?Ǭ†?Ǭ†?Ǭ†?Ǭ†?Ǭ† Matthew 16:13-16
?Ǭ†In verse 13, Jesus asked His disciples who other people said the Son of Man is. They answered by throwing out four possibilities in verse 14. But who others thought that Jesus might be was not His major concern. It was just a way to lead into what really mattered. Who did they, personally, the disciples, say that Jesus was? Peter answered only for himself when he responded with ?¢‚Ǩ?ìYou are the Christ, the Son of the living God.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù
?Ǭ†So many people want to give the same kind of answer that the disciples gave in verse 14. They will say, like so many others, that He was a good man, or that He is just one of many men who can show them the way to Heaven, or that He was just a man that lived and then died like all other men.
?Ǭ†When a man dies and stands before Jesus Christ, He will ask them just one question. Who did they think that He was while they lived on earth? The only correct answer, the only answer that will gain them an entrance into Heaven is ?¢‚Ǩ?ìYou are the Christ, the Son of the living God.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù?Ǭ†
